CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (Aug. 30, 2025) - The Buena Vista women's golf team teed-off its fall campaign at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course here on Saturday and is tied for fifth overall among the 10 teams after an opening round 329 at the 36-hole Kohawk Invitational.
Senior Brooke Stellmaker led the team and is sitting ninth overall after turning in a 5-over round of 77. Junior Noelle Hamand is four shots back and in 24th with senior Hailey Bistodeau (83) and sophomore Ella Whited (88) rounding out the scoring line-up.
Junior Riley Haschke (91), freshman Joie Christensen (87) and freshman Hannah Patrick (93) also competed for the Beavers with Christensen and Patrick listed as individuals. Christensen is tied for 49th overall.
BVU sits only two shots behind the Wartburg College ‘B’ team and 15 shots back of the Wartburg ‘A’ squad. Eight of the nine American Rivers Conference teams are in the field with the Beavers reaching the clubhouse with the second-lowest score among those schools.
Mount Mercy chalked up a 297 to lead the team race after 18 holes with Chiara Bothe leading the individual race after a 1-under 71 that included four birdies.
Sunday's final round is scheduled to get underway at 10 a.m.
