Kyle Miller becomes All-American with Eighth Place Finish

GENEVA, Ohio (May 24, 2025) - The career of Buena Vista fifth-year senior Kyle Miller came to a close on Saturday afternoon but not before he went on to take eighth place in the 800-meter run on the final day of the NCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at the SPIRE Institute.

Miller qualified into the finals with the fastest qualifying time on Friday afternoon and was toe-to-toe with the leaders after the first lap with a split of 55.39. It remained a tight race until the end with only two seconds separating the winner from 10th place. Miller finished in a time of 1:51.51 which was only a half second behind a top-4 finish.

With the eighth-place finish, Miller earns All-American honors for the first time in his collegiate career. He's the first to land outdoor All-American accolades for the program since 2015 when Seth Woodson did so with a seventh-place effort; also in the 800-meter run.

The championships close out the storied career for Miller and also the season for BVU.
