EMPORIA, Mo. (Mar. 29, 2025) - The Buena Vista outdoor track & field teams wrapped up the Emporia State Relays on Saturday afternoon and sophomore Megan Bakke gave the team top-10 individual finishes in both the 800-meter run and the 1500-meter run.

Bakke ran the 1500-meter on Friday and came across the line in a time of 4:59.88 which was nine seconds off her school record time set last season. She was only 0.02 seconds from a top-5 finish and was 14 seconds off the overall winning time. On Saturday she ran the 800-meter and came in eighth overall with a new personal best time of 2:23.47 which has her now ranked sixth in program history.

Senior Courtney Johnson placed 12th overall in the shot put, 16th in the hammer throw and 17th in the javelin. 

Buena Vista continues its outdoor slate on Apr. 4-5 at the Wartburg College Outdoor Select Meet.
