WAVERLY, Iowa (Feb. 7, 2025) - The Buena Vista University women's indoor track and field team was back in action at the Friday Knight Lights Meet hosted by Wartburg College.
Freshman
Claire Schroeder was victorious for the second time this season in the 60m hurdles by capturing the event in 8.99 seconds. She qualified second into the finals after a time of 8.96 seconds in the prelims. In addition, Schroeder also competed in the long jump and came in seventh with a leap of 4.90m (16-1.0).
Senior
Courtney Johnson had a big night of her own by taking second in the shot put with a new personal best heave of 13.32 meters which is also ranked #16 in DIII and broke the meet record. She also came in seventh place in the weight throw at 14.96 meters.
Sophomore
Takara Conley came in second in the 1000m run in a time of 3:18.80 and was only two seconds off the winning time.
Buena Vista continues the indoor schedule next weekend (Feb. 14-15) at the South Dakota State Indoor Classic.
