Sioux City, Iowa (Nov. 7, 2025)- The Buena Vista University's men's wrestling team had a dual at Briar Cliff University Chargers on Friday night, and despite wrestling tough, not letting up easy points, the Beavers came up short in the dual, 36-10.
The night started at the 133-pound weight class, and the Chargers won that weight class and rode the momentum out to a 30-0 lead. Senior
Trevor Kruse was able to pick up a 14-3 major decision at the 184-pound weight class and put BVU on the board. Kruse was dominant throughout, using a combination of takedowns and back points to quickly build the lead.

Luis Salazar followed with had a tough match that came down to the wire at 197, which had everyone on the edge of their seats,but came up short 5-2. Along with that, junior
Colton O'Hern suffered a heartbreak loss, getting taken down in overtime and falling 7-4 in a match that was back and forth throughout. Freshman
John Ackerman was able to get a forfeit win at the 125-pound weight class, securing six team points for the Beavers.
Buena Vista (0-1) will return to action next Thursday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m., as the team takes on Northwestern College (Iowa) in Orange City, IA.
