DECORAH, Iowa (Nov. 15, 2025) - The Buena Vista women's wrestling team won several matches and brought home two individual placewinners on Saturday while competing at the annual Luther College Open on Saturday.
Savannah Freifeld generated a team-high 17.5 points and placed fifth overall to help lead the way while
Alannah Peterson came in second. Freifeld made it into the quarterfinals after winning a decision in the first round before notching a big fall in the second round. Despite falling 10-0 in the quarterfinals, she bounced back in a big way with three straight victories, including two falls and one technical fall.
Destiny Kolheim ended the day with 11.0 points overall, including three falls on the day while
Kinalisa Lokot tallied 8.5 points thanks to three falls.
Paige Baier picked up a pair of falls at 160 pounds and totaled 5.5 points.
After competing in three straight Open tournaments to begin the year, the Beavers will now turn to its first dual of the season when it travels to Loras College on Thursday, Nov. 20 for a 6:30 p.m. start against the Duhawks.
