ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (Feb. 8, 2026) - Buena Vista freshman women's wrestler, Savannah Freifeld was one of four Beavers to take part in the DIII Quad Cities Invite over the weekend, and would lead the way with a 3-2 overall record but come up just shy of placing.

Freifeld, at 138 pounds, began the tournament with an 8-3 triumph in the opening round and then bounced back from a toss los to gain a fall in 1:12. She made it back-to-back wins with a hard fought 10-4 decision before but her weekend then ended in the double-elimination tournament with a 12-2 technical fall late in the match. Freifeld is now a team-best 23-13 on the year.

Paige Baier (145), Kinasella Lokot (160) and Lellana Kollasch (160) all finished the tournament at 0-2.

Buena Vista now has a couple weeks off to prepare for the NCAA Regional Tournament on February 20-21 at Indianola, Iowa.
