STORM LAKE, Iowa (Nov. 10, 2025) - The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) has announced its weekly Performers of the Week, and Buena Vista has landed a pair of football players on this week's list.
Following the team's dominant win over Nebraska Wesleyan in the home finale on Saturday, junior running back Adriel Fussell captured the Football Offensive Performer of the Week while senior defensive back Tre Fisher was named the football Defensive Performer of the Week. The weekly nods were the second and third ones for BVU this season. Senior Meven Obregon was honored back on Oct. 13.
Playing in snow-covered conditions all game long, Fussell had a standout performances by rushing for a career-high 259 yards and three touchdowns on 32 total attempts. He took his first hand off of the day and scampered 45 yards down field and went on to take the ball on the next seven snaps as well which set-up a two-yard touchdown pass that gave BVU a 7-0 lead late in the first quarter. He continued in the second half by finding the endzone for all three of his rushing touchdowns from 5, 2, and 72 yards, respectively. Fussell's rushing performance was the highest total by any A-R-C player in the league this season, the 10th best in DIII on the year, and the fifth-best total for any BVU player all-time. His 72-yard touchdown burst for the game's final score went down as the fifth-longest run by any conference player.
