BVU led throughout the early part of the opening set before while the Cobbers pulled even at 13-13. It was still a 16-15 score before Concordia scored six of the next seven points, which included three hitting errors and a bad set by the Beavers, that gave them a 22-16 lead en route to a 25-19 win.
The Beavers held an 11-10 lead in the second set before an 11-1 run by the Cobbers put them in front 22-16 as they went on to win 25-20.
BVU looked poised to force a fourth set by building a 20-11 lead in the third set. The Cobbers, however, stormed back to tie the game at 23-23 and then the two teams went back and forth before Concordia (6-13) finished off the match with a thrilling 28-26 win.
Buena Vista is now 6-14 on the year and will play the final non-conference match of the year on Saturday, Oct. 25, at Martin Luther College. First serve is scheduled for 11 a.m.
