ASHLAND, Neb. (Oct. 17, 2025) - The Buena Vista men's cross country team returned to the course on Friday afternoon at the annual Platte River Rumble, hosted by Creighton University, and was led by junior Patrick Heffernan's 19th place individual finish.
In a field that was largely made up of Division I and Division II runners, Heffernan crossed the finish line of the 8k race with a time of 26:38.97 which was only four seconds off his collegiate best time set last time out and only 90 seconds back of the overall top collegiate finisher.
Senior Hadyn Piskorski came in 38th and matched his season-best time of 28:01 set two weeks ago while freshman Leighton Sippel was 40 seconds behind at 28:41.49 and shaved 13 seconds off his previous best set in the team's last race at Wartburg's Dan Hutson Invite.
