WAVERLY, Iowa (Sept. 28, 2024) - The Buena Vista University men's golf returned to the course on Saturday morning to begin the two-day Wartburg College Fall Invite at Prairie Links Golf Course. The Beavers turned in an opening round 311 and sit third among the five teams.
Matthew Turpen fired a 2-over rounds 74 to begin play and sits in a tie for fifth overall. Not far back in a tie for 12th is
Gabe Kramer after a 77 while
Mason Laven and
Kaleb Sander are in a tie for 16th after turning in a pair of 80's.
Payton Greenwood rounded out the line-up with an 84 and is tied for 26th.
Justin Hanks and
Ethan Peterson also turned in rounds of 80, respectively, and each are golfing as individuals. The final individual for the Beavers is
Isaiah Segovia who finished with an 86.
BVU sits nine strokes back of Hawkeye Community College for second and trail the host Knights by 16 shots. The final 18 holes are schedule for Sunday.
