Men's Golf Takes 14th Overall at Siouxland Invite

ORANGE CITY, Iowa (Sept. 10, 2024) - The Buena Vista University men's golf team wrapped up the Siouxland Invite with the final round on Tuesday which was played at Landsmeer Golf Course. The Beavers carded a final round 321 and placed 14th overall.

Matthew Turpen turned in a 77 and was the only Beaver to post all three rounds in the 70's. He would finish in a tie for 30th overall at 225 but was only five shots out of the top-15.

After Gabe Kramer and Kaleb Sander each had 82's in their second rounds yesterday, they both bounced back over the final 18 holes to tally rounds of 79. Kramer finished tied for 69th with a 239 while Sander was two shots back.

Mason Laven was three shots better than round two by firing an 81 and card a 54-hole score of 243. Justin Hanks rounded out the line with a 251 after a final round 87.

Northwestern College's Axton Miller rallied with a final round score of 2-under par to edge teammate Jackson Laven by one stroke. Laven had entered the day as the clubhouse leader.

The Red Raiders held off Nebraska Wesleyan by six shots to claim the team title.

Buena Vista is back on the course Sept. 21 and 22 when it hosts the annual BVU Fall Invite.
