STORM LAKE, Iowa - The 2nd seed BVU Valorant team picked up a 2-0 (16-14 OT, 13-10) victory over the 7th seed Hagerstown Community College in the quarterfinals of the NECC Navigators National Tournament. BVU will play in the semifinals on Sunday, April 28th at 7 pm against 3rd seed Indian Wesleyan University. IWU beat the 6th seed Johnson & Wales Univesity 2-0 (13-2, 13-5). 

BVU opened up the contest playing the map Lotus. Hagerstown came out on fire opening up a 3-1 lead in the race to 13 win by two. Midway through the first map the Beavers picked up the pace winning three of the next four rounds claiming the 7-5 advantage. The Beavers continued to put on the pressure opening up a 10-7 lead before Hagerstown used a 5-2 run tying the score at 12. From there the two team traded off until BVU won the last two round claiming the tight 16-14 overtime victory. 

Harlie Ferguson led the Beavers with 31 total eliminations while Jackson (JT) Trotman finished close behind with 29. Cameron Germain finished with 19. Xomu led the match with 32 total eliminations. 

The second map the squads played was Split. Hagerstown came out fast once again opening up a 7-3 lead before the Beavers regained momentum. BVU closed the gap to 7-6 before HCC picked up the next two round opening up a 9-6 lead. The Beavers regrouped and finished strong closing the game winning seven of the final eight round picking up the 13-10 victory.
