Beavers land Eight Teams in NECC Nationals

STORM LAKE, Iowa - Buena Vista University Esports lands eight teams into NECC nationals.This is the most teams in BVU's history that has landed a sport in the national tournament. 

With a great spring season the Beavers Valorant squad landed themselves in Division VII Nationals. The Beavers won the regular season in Division VII Central A going 7-0. In the playoffs the squad finished 4th. They landed 14th in the national points and played #3 New England College. The Beavers fell in the first round 2-0 (13-4, 14-12) ending their amazing spring season. 

Smash Gold had a solid fall and spring. In the fall the squad finished 2nd in their division and 3rd in the playoffs for Division V. The team got bumped up to Division IV in the spring. The team won the regular season and tournament title automatically qualifying for the national tournament. The team is the #3 seed in Division IV nationals and take on #14 Wayne State University in round oune. 

Smash Navy had a solid fall and spring. The team finished 3rd in the their divisional tournament in the fall and in the spring they won the regular season title before finishing second in the tournament. With their fall and spring points they qualified 5th for Division V nationals. They will take on #12 University of Michigan-Flint. 

Rainbow Six Siege won their regular season division both in the fall and the spring. In the fall they finished 2nd in the tournament before getting over the hump winning the tournament title in the spring getting the automatic bid into Division V nationals. The Beavers are the #1 seed and will take on #8 Marietta College in the quarterfinals. 

Rocket League Navy had a solid fall season giving them enough point to qualify into Division 9 nationals. The squad comes in as the #8 seed will take on #1 University of Montana. 

Overwatch Gold won their regular season in the fall while finishing second in the tournament. In the spring the Beavers finished third in the regular season before falling in the first round of Division V Midwest playoffs. They qualified with enough points and should be the #6 seed in Division V Nationals. 

Overwatch White earned 230 total points with their effort in the fall and spring. They should be the #6 seed in Division VII Nationals. Overwatch Navy earned 140 total points from the fall and spring seasons and should be the #13 seed in the Division 9 tournament. Those games and seed are still to be determined.
