ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. (Apr. 12, 2024) - The Buena Vista University men's tennis team went on the road Friday afternoon to Crown College and walked away from its final non-conference match of the season with a strong 8-1 victory.
The Beavers took control right out of the gate by sweeping through doubles play. Dalton Pregon and Kaiden DePascale teammed up to win a thrilling 8-6 victory at No. 1 doubles. BVU rolled to wins at No. 2 and No.3 by scores of 8-3 and 8-2.
Dalton Pregon played a thrilling No. 1 singles match but would come up on the short end of a hard fought 7-6 (7-2), 7-5 match-up. Henry Borts picked up a solid 6-4, 6-3 straight set victory at No. 2 to get BVU on track. From there, the Beavers would allow more than two points in any set just once, as they won the final four in straight sets.
Buena Vista improves to 4-9 overall and will host Wartburg College from an American Rivers Conference match on Saturday, Apr. 13, at 4 p.m.
