The Beavers, despite holding Loras to under 38 percent shooting in the second half, could not mount enough of a rally early on to try and claw their way back. BVU was just 2-of-12 from long range over the final 20 minutes and finished 6-of-24 for the game. Loras built the game's largest lead of 33 points over the final three minutes.

Reed turned in a team-high 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting for the Beavers while Evans and senior Zane Neubaum each added 10. Evans and Reed also hauled in five rebounds and one blocked shot apiece. Buena Vista finished the game at 46.8 percent shooting overall and made 13-of-16 from the free-throw line.

After shooting 59.0 percent from the field in the first half, the Beavers held Loras to 37.1 percent in the second. BVU did turn the ball over 23 times which led to 26 points for the Duhawks.

Buena Vista drops to 11-11 overall (4-9 A-R-C) and looks to complete the season sweep of Wartburg on Saturday, Feb. 10, when the two teams tip-off at 4 p.m., in Waverly, Iowa.
