ASHLAND, Neb. (Oct. 18, 2024) - The Buena Vista University men's cross country team turned in another solid performance this afternoon at the annual Platte River Rumble, hosted by Creighton University, by landing a pair of top-30 finishes among a field of 100 total runners.
Facing a bit of breeze throughout the race on what was a sunny and mild afternoon to run, Senior Kyle Miller notched a 13th place individual finish during the 8k race in a time of 26:39.48 with fellow senior Kaden Sadler reaching the line in 27:19.10 and take 29th. Miller was the second DIII runner to cross by 10 seconds while Sadler was the fourth to reach.
Carter Braun was the third Beaver to finish as he came in with a time of 29:50.0 while Brayden Mahlum, Aiden Egertson and Hayden Pisorski ended the race within 12 spots of one another. Zach Thompson was nearly 10 seconds off of his personal best time and rounded out the line-up for the team.
BVU finished the race with 173 total team points which was sixth overall among the nine teams - only eight points behind fifth-place Midland University.
It was the final tune-up for the team as it makes the final preparations for the upcoming American Rivers Conference Championships on Saturday, Nov. 2, at Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
