MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (Feb. 4, 2023) - The Buena Vista men's indoor track & field team competed on Saturday at the Gopher Classic, hosted by the University of Minnesota, and had several strong performances as it builds toward the upcoming indoor championships.

Ashton Bates secured a fourth-place finish in the 60m dash with a time of 7.10 seconds after qualifying seventh at 7.22. He later went on to capture ninth in the 200m dash at 23.41.

The Beavers had a pair of top-10 places in the 3000m run with Kaden Sadler claiming ninth in 8:56.28 with Kyle Miller right behind in 10th at 8:58.41. Those two now rank third and fourth on the all-time performance list in school history.

Freshman Gabe Obert had his best mark of the year in the high jump, placing sixth with a height of 5-8.75. Freshman Abraham Christensen had a top-10 finish in the shot put at 46-6.25. That mark is also ranked 10th in the A-R-C this season.

Buena Vista is back in action on Feb. 11 when it takes part in the annual Darren Young Classic, hosted by Grinnell College.
