MOUNT VERNON, Iowa (Oct. 8, 2022) - The Buena Vista men's soccer team went on the road for a non-conference match on Saturday afternoon by came up on the short end of a 6-1 loss by Cornell College.
George Archer turned in a hat trick for the Rams, scoring three goals, including two in the second half. Cornell (6-4-1), which had 14 shots in the first half, broke a scoreless match with a goal just 10 minutes into play before adding a second four minutes later.
BVU trailed 3-0 at the half, but got on the board early in the second when
Kade Stover registered his first career goal off an assist by
Chance Lane. The Beavers, however, had just one other shot attempt in the half, as the Rams went on to tack on three more goals.
Isaiah Thomas was charged with six goals allowed over 75 minutes while
Cody Fuller took over and went the rest of the way and had one save.
Buena Vista is now 0-10-2 overall and will host Nebraska Wesleyan on Tuesday, October 11, at 7:30 p.m.
