STORM LAKE, Iowa (Oct. 11, 2022) - Nebraska Wesleyan visited J. Leslie Rollins Stadium on Tuesday night for an American Rivers Conference men's soccer match against Buena Vista, and the Prairie Wolves would school twice midway through the first half to build a 2-0 halftime lead before going on to defeat the Beavers, 5-0.
NWU used a 9-1 shots advantage in the opening half as Jackson McGowan scored two of his three goals to give the Prairie Wolves the lead. NWU added to its lead just over five minutes into the second half and scored the final two over the last 15 minutes of play.
Jacob Shirley had two of BVU's three shot attempts in the contest with both opportunities coming on-goal. McGowan finished with five shot attempts for the Prairie Wolves (all on-goal) as they tallied 19 overall.
Cody Fuller got the start in-goal for BVU and went the distance while saving nine shots.
Buena Vista is now 0-11-2 on the year (0-4-0 A-R-C) and goes after the first win on Saturday night at Coe College (1-12-1, 0-5 A-R-C) with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
