STORM LAKE, Iowa (May 6, 2021) – Buena Vista University Director of Athletics, Jack Denholm, has announced that Rosie Aumann has been elevated to the next head coach of the Beaver volleyball team. Aumann had served as BVU's top assistant coach the past three seasons.

"After an extensive search, I am excited to name Rosie Aumann the new head volleyball coach at BVU," says Denholm. "Being involved with the program the past three seasons, she knows the ins-and-outs, has a strong vision for recruitment, and a plan to take the program to the next level".

Aumann is eager to take over a program that has made the conference tournament in six straight years (no conference tournament held during the COVID-19 adjusted spring season) and has produced four all-conference selections during her first three years on staff.

"I would first like to thank Jack and the search committee for giving me this opportunity," says Aumann. "On a personal level, this hiring means everything. Being a head coach has been a goal of mine, and I couldn't be more excited to start that here at BVU! Professionally, every coach strives to progress, and with that, every coach loves winning. To me, winning should be everything, whether that is on the court, in the classroom, or simply in life. In this position of leadership, my primary goal is to build a team of winners."

"I am most excited about the incoming student-athletes!" adds Aumann. "They will add more depth and potential for success of this team. It is also nice that we did not graduate any seniors. We will be able to pick up right where we left off, while adding in the incoming freshmen to our system. I will bring a bigger emphasis on the mental and technical aspect of the game, and I'm very analytical and like to break things down to a more detailed point of view."

Aumann played collegiate volleyball at Kishwaukee Community College during the 2012 and 2013 seasons and earned both All-Conference and All-Region recognition for a team that placed 8th in the National Tournament.  In addition, she was also named the school's Student-Athlete of the Year and Female Athlete of the Year.

After earning her Associate of Arts degree from Kishwaukee, Aumann went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in 2016.  Before arriving at BVU, Aumann spent time serving as a JV volleyball coach at Racine Lutheran High School in 2016 and 2017 and also spent time as a club volleyball coach.
