RIVER FOREST, Ill. (Sept. 4, 2026) - The Buena Vista volleyball team got its season off to a strong start on Friday night with a pair of 3-0 sweeps on day one of the Concordia-Chicago Invite.
The Beavers had little trouble in their opening match against Knox College as it rolled to a 25-10, 25-12, 25-18 victory. Freshman
Nora Konz got her collegiate career off to a stellar start by leading the way with nine kills and a .211 attack percentage. She just missed out on a double-double after chalking up 12 digs. Sophomore
Charley Hernandez followed right behind with eight kills and only a pair of errors to go along with eight digs. Junior

Anabel Seaman dished out 15 assists
As a team, BVU tallied 38 kills and a .219 attack percentage while holding Knox to fewer than 10 kills in all three sets. The team also powered its way off the serve while tallying 10 ace serves.
In the nightcap against Benedictine, the Beavers pulled out a thrilling 27-25 victory in the opening set and never looked back. The momentum carried over into the second set with a 25-17 win before capping off the match with a 25-16 triumph in the third.
Hernandez dominated with 14 kills to lead the way while Konz followed with seven and senior
Sydney Meints chipped in with five. Hernandez captured her first double-double of the year by adding 12 digs as Konz added 10. Seaman dished out a career-high 18 assists with Ramirez next in line with 10. Freshman
Jocelyn O'Neal made her presence felt at the net with a pair of solo blocks to go along with an assisted block.
The Beavers (2-0) return to action on Saturday with two more matches to complete the season-opening trip. The team squares-off with Bethany Lutheran at 11 a.m. before taking on the host Cougars at 1 p.m.
