LAST TIME OUT
Buena Vista dropped a heartbreaking 76-67 loss to No.8 Dubuque on Monday, March 1 in Siebens Fieldhouse. A tight game in the first half, with each team only able to manage to gain a five-point lead through the first 20 minutes, BVU was able to go into the locker room up 39-37 at the break. The Beavers, who had knocked down five three-pointers in the first half, were unable to connect from behind the arc in the second half, going 0-14. Dubuque’s lights out scoring coming out of the locker room pushed them to take a 46-45 lead within the first five minutes. BVU’s seven-minute scoring drought left them unable to surmount a comeback as the Spartans extended their lead to double digits where it stayed for the rest of the contest. Jake Thompson led the Beavers with 28 points followed by Michael Demers with 17.
