CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (March 30, 2021) - Senior
Anthony Gallagher turned in rounds of 80 and 82, respectively, and tied for 22nd overall to lead the Buena Vista University men's golf team during the 36-hole Kirkwood Eagle Spring Classic which wrapped up on Monday afternoon at Hunters Ridge Golf Course.

Ryan Ruzek carded an opening round 79 on Sunday but dipped down into a tie for 31st following a final round 87. Sophomore
Shane Hess was steady throughout the event with rounds of 83 and 84 to take 36th and
Evan Krause posting consecutive rounds of 84 on the par-72 course. Sophomore
Joey Ashley bounced back from his opening round 94 with an 84.
As a team, the Beavers dipped from fifth after 18 holes down to eighth to close the event following a final round 336. Kirkwood Community College turned in a day-two score of 299 and cruised to a 24-shot victory over runner-up Mount Mercy University. Kirkwood also had the top two individual finishers with James Morgan and Kolby Schakelford each tallying a four-over par 148. A total of 15 teams and 85 individuals took part in the Invite.
The Beavers are scheduled to return to action this Friday (April 2) and Saturday (April 3) at the Wartburg College Spring Invite.
