STORM LAKE, Iowa (February 6, 2021) - There were several solid performances by the Buena Vista men's indoor track and field team on Saturday inside the Lamberti Rec Center as the Beavers took part in an American Rivers Conference Triangular against both Luther and Nebraska Wesleyan.

Freshman Joseph Wallace turned in the fastest qualifying time of 6.96 seconds in the 60-meter dash but was the victim of a false start in the finals and did not compete.  His prelimiary time is the second-fast mark in program history.  Chriatian St. Romain took second in the event with a time of 7.23 seconds with Spencer Hunt coming in third.

Jadon Micke came in third during his 400-meter dash while Greg Tystahl added a runner-up finish in the 3,000 at 9:15 and only two seconds back of the champion.  Garrett Bates and Joe Fisher went toe-to-toe in the pole vault and too first and second, respectively.  Bates cleared 41.0 meters while Fisher made 3.95.

Lane Jellison had a strong showing in the shot put with a second place effort while also taking fifth in the weight throw.

The Beavers scored 66 points on the day and finished just seven behind Luther for second.  The team is back in action again next Saturday when it hosts a triangular with Simpson and Wartburg starting at 11:00 a.m.
