DECORAH, Iowa (December 11, 2021) - Luther College broke open a six-point game entering the fourth quarter by outscoring Buena Vista 18-5 in the final period en route to a 67-48 victory over the Beavers on Saturday afternoon inside of the Regents Center.
Freshman
Taylor Krager led BVU with 13 points as junior
Vanessa Hamlett followed with 11 points and seven rebounds.
Hannah Whitver turned in a team-best nine rebounds.
The Beavers made six field goals in both the second and third quarters and trailed only 49-43 entering the fourth quarter, but then the team made just 1-of-15 from the field over the final 10 minutes. BVU couldn't get a perimeter shot to fall in the contest, going 0-of-18 from downtown while Luther was 6-of-19.
The Norse held a 15-10 advantage after one quarter but the Beavers came back in the second and pulled even at 26-26 heading into the half.
Kailey Jones led the Norse (4-7, 2-2 A-R-C) with a game-high 18 points and 15 rebounds.
Buena Vista dips to 4-5 overall (2-2 A-R-C). The team travels to Waldorf University on December 16 for an exhibition game at 6:30 p.m.
