Smart and Rheault Named All-Americans by D3baseball.com

The duo becomes the program's eighth and ninth All-Americans since 2002

STORM LAKE - Buena Vista junior baseball players Gage Smart and Bryce Rheault continue to add to their respective postseason accolades after both were named All-Americans by D3baseball.com as announced on Tuesday.

Smart was voted to the Second Team while Rheault was an Honorable Mention honoree.  Both were eligiblie to earn all-american status after being named First Team All-Region selections last week.

The duo gives the program nine All-Americans since 2002.  They become the first since Neil Marshall earned First Team Accolades in 2016.

Smart ranked fifth in all of Division III in ERA (1.14), first in hits allowed per nine innings (3.80) and WHIP (0.70), 15th in saves (8) and 23rd in total appearances (23).  Rheault ranked ninth in the country in hits (75), 45th in stolen bases (24) and 91st in batting average (.399).  He was also named the American Rivers Conference Player of the Year.

Smart and Rheault were the only players from the American Rivers Conference to land D3baseball.com All-American accolades.
