Prairie Wolves Take A-R-C Opener over Beavers 99-74

LINCOLN, Neb. (December 4, 2019) - Senior Destiny Einerwold scored a team-high 24 points to lead three players in double figures with Jennifer Schneider registering her first career double-double but the Beavers came up short 99-74 against Nebraska Wesleyan in the American Rivers Conference opener on Wednesday night inside of Snyder Arena.

Einerwold was 10-of-16 shooting from the field and finished just three points shy of her career-high.  Erin Gerke followed with 19 points, eight rebounds, two assists and a pair of steals, while Schneider was 4-of-7 from the field.

The Beavers did shoot a season-high 45.6 percent from the field but were plagued by a season-high 29 turnovers.

NWU jumped out to a 15-3 lead early on and took a 26-11 to the second before opening up a 44-25 halftime cushion.  The Beavers tried to hang tough, putting up 28 points in the third quarter, but the Prairie Wolves seemed to have an answer for each bucket and BVU was unable to spark enough of a run.

BVU made 6-of-16 long range shots in the second half alone and was 50 percent from the field in the half.  The Prairie Wolves did not give the Beavers many extra possessions in the game by committing only 11 turnovers.

The Beavers (1-7, 0-1 A-R-C) now get set for their home opener coming up this Saturday, December 7, as eighth-ranked Wartburg pays a visit to Siebens Fieldhouse for a 2 p.m. tip-off.
