Box Score

Written by Denis James, BVU Sports Information Intern

The Buena Vista women's basketball team heads into Saturday's matchup on a good roll after going 2-0 last week against Dubuque and Loras. Those two games pushed the Beavers' win streak to three games; just one shy of the season-high. The Beavers (13-11, 8-7 IIAC) look to add another win to the streak as they take on Luther (17-9, 11-4 IIAC), who's currently the second-place team in the conference.

After clinching a berth in the IIAC Tournament, the Beavers will look to clinch the fourth-seed with a win against the Norse. Buena Vista was unable to beat Luther at home in their previous matchup, losing 76-52. The Beavers were unable to slow down Madison Spence who poured in 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Buena Vista had 26 turnovers in that matchup, leading to Luther's 39 points. The Beavers were able to turn Luther over 20 times, but they were unable to take advantage with only 14 points. Buena Vista also went cold from the field in the second half, shooting only 26.67 percent from the field.  ]

Both teams are in the top half of the conference in rebounds per game. Luther averages 41.6 rebounds per game ranking first, while BVU averages 41 rebounds per game which ranks third. The Beavers will need to contain Claire Marburger as she comes into the game third in the conference with 17.5 points per game.  BVU was able to hold her to only seven points in the previous matchup.

Tip-off for Saturday's game will be at 2 p.m. at the Regents Center Gymnasium.
