Men's Tennis Earns First IIAC Victory of the Year

The Buena Vista men's tennis team continued its home schedule today with a pair of Iowa Conference matches, including a 7-2 victory over Simpson College to start the day.  The Beavers would then fall later in the day to Central College, 7-2.

BVU got off to a strong start against the Storm, as Chris Habermann and Jesse Brace won their 11th doubles match of the year while Aaron Pluym and Will Connelly captured an 8-5 win at number two doubles.

It was all Beavers in singles play as they won five of the six matches, including a three-set tiebreaker by Pluym at number three.

BVU hung tough against the Dutch but came up on the shortend of the match.  Habermann and Brace won for the 12th time this season at number 1 doubles to help get the team started.  Habermann then came up short in a thrilling three-set tiebreaker in his singles match, 6-4, 7-6, 10-3.

Brace, meanwhile, came out on the right side of his three-set tiebreaker, winning the third 10-8.

Buena Vista is now 3-17 (1-5 IIAC) and is off until hosting Morningside College on April 14.
