The game was tied at 9-9 with under 4:00 to play in the opening quarter before the Duhawks took control of the game with a 17-2 run to close out the frame and lead 26-11.  The lead grew to 17 in the first minute of the second before BVU slowly began to chip away at the lead.

A three-point bucket from Nicole Snyder brought the Beavers within seven at 31-24 with under a minute to play in the half, but they'd trail by nine at the break (35-26).

BVU made it a four-point game through three quarters, but the Duhawks opened up a double-digit lead midway through the final stanza.  The Beavers weren't done yet, though, as Demers was fouled as she drilled a three-point shot with under 35 seconds left.  She sank the free-throw and it was a 55-53 contest.

The Duhawks then made just 1-of-2 attempts at the charity stripe to give BVU a chance to tie things up but Sidney Beckman's three-point shot was off target and after a foul was called on the rebound, Loras put the game out of reach with two more free-throws.

Cyerra Hutchins turned in a game-high 18 points for Loras which moved ahead of BVU into third place in the IIAC standings at 13-8, 7-5 IIAC.

Buena Vista dips to 11-11 overall (7-6 IIAC).  The team is now off until hosting Coe College next Saturday, February 11 in the annual Pink Out game insdie of Siebens Fieldhouse.
