Box Score The Buena Vista men's basketball team will tip-off its 2016-17 campaign with home games on both Friday and Saturday nights (Nov. 18-19) inside of Siebens Fieldhouse. The Beavers host Gustavus Adolphus on Friday before a Saturday night contest against Augsburg.
BVU is coming off an 11-16 season in which it went 5-9 in Iowa Conference play en route to a sixth-place conference finish. The Beavers advanced into the IIAC Tournament semifinals before Wartburg College eliminated BVU in Waverly.
Seniors starters Kennedy Drey and Sean Morgan are each back to help lead a group that features a good mix of veterans and fresh faces. Drey was a Second Team All-IIAC selection a year ago after earning First Team All-Region accolades by d3hoops.com as a sophomore. He enters the year 166 points shy of 1,000 and 36 rebounds shy of 600. Only 11 players in program history have captured that feat.
Morgan turned in one of the best single-season shooting performances last year as a junior by making 65 percent of his attempts. He led the IIAC in field goal percentage and averaged over 11 points per contest.
Gustavus is also coming off a rare sub-.500 season (12-13) where it went 9-11 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Only six players who saw any varsity action last year return for the Gusties
The Auggies went 15-11 overall and 10-10 in the MIAC. They will arrive in Storm Lake on Saturday after tipping off their season Friday night at Simpson College.

NEXT for BVU: Following this weekend, BVU will travel to the University of Nebraska-Omaha on Tuesday, November 22. It will be marked as an exhibition game for the Beavers. Their next official game will be on Sunday, November 27 when they host UW-Stout at 4:00pm.
