The Buena Vista women's tennis team went on the road Wednesday and played a pair of matches in Dubuque against both the University of Dubuque and Loras College, respectively.  The Beavers fell in each match by identical 8-1 margins.

After the Spartans swept BVU in doubles play during the opener, Madison Gierstorf put BVU on the board with a thrilling 3-6, 6-3, 10-8 victory at number three singles.  The win was the first in her career and the second individual win by the young and improving Beaver team this season.

Loras and BVU met in a 2:00pm afternoon showdown with the Duhawks opening a 2-1 lead after doubles play with a narrow 8-5 win in number one doubles play and by forfeit in the number three slot.  The Beavers recorded their lone win of the match in the number two slot when the two Loras players retired.

The Duhawks then allowed more than one point on just two occassions during singles play, as BVU falls wraps up its IIAC schedule at 0-7.

Next up for the Beavers (0-7) will be the Iowa Conference Individual Tournament which takes place on October 9-10 in Cedar Rapids.
