Women's Tennis Drops a Pair in Home Opener

The Buena Vista women's tennis team was in action on their home court for the first time this season, hosting Iowa Conference foe, Loras College, as well as Northwestern College (IA).  The Beavers dropped both matches by scores of 7-2 and 8-1, respectively.

In the opener against the Duhawks, BVU got a thrilling 9-7 doubles win by Tasha Nelson and Sam Kavan, but trailed 2-1 heading to singles play.

Kassidy Ipsen got the lone win for the Beavers at number two singles, winning over Kylie DeWees, 6-1, 7-6 (6-0).

BVU wrapped up the day against the Red Raiders of the Great Plains Athletic Conference, and it was all Northwestern.  NWC took a 3-0 lead into singles play where it would also go on to win two of the three matches played.  Tarynne Kinghorn earned an 8-3 victory in the number three slot.

Buena Vista falls to 0-6 overall and will be back in action again on September 20 for Iowa Conference matches at both Simpson College (9:00am) and Central College (2:00pm), respectively.
