Box Score In a game that featured 17 ties and 21 lead changes, it was Loras College drilling a big three-point bucket with less than a minute to play that helped lift the Duhawks past the Buena Vista men's basketball team on Saturday afternoon, 106-100.
A pair of free-throws by Nick Wuebker gave BVU a 93-92 lead with 2:49 left, but it was short-lived as the Duhawks came right back with a three-pointer on the next trip down the court to regain the lead at 95-92.
BVU kept the game within two at 97-95, but Loras made its seventh and final three-point bucket of the game with 56 seconds left to push the margin to five. Alex Savage kep the Beavers within striking distance with a layup 16 seconds later, but the Duhawks would go on to make all six of their free-throw attempts over the final 25 seconds to secure the six-point win and move into a fourth-place tie with BVU in the Iowa Conference standings.
Neither team was able to build much of a lead, as BVU led by as many as six near the midway point of the second half, while the seven-point margin the Duhawks took with nine seconds left (104-97) was their largest.
