Pat enters his third season as pitching coach for the Beavers in 2018.
Over his first two years, BVU has been in the top-half of the league in ERA and has led the IIAC in fewest walks allowed both seasons.
He brings over 20 years of coaching softball to the program and has been a part of nearly 50 coaching clinics over the years.
Among his stops along the way was Waupaca, Wis., where he also helped set up the youth softball association back in 2003. It was there when he began focusing in on pitching and began instructing individuals ranging from five years of age all the way up to high school.
Over the years, he has had the privelage of learing the art of pitching from the likes of Mike Roberts (currently at Washington State and the former Oregon Ducks pitching coach) as well as Jenny Finch and the Oympic Team back in 2004.
McCormick has since moved to Alta, Iowa, where he currently serves as a Controller for Nutra Tech, Inc., of Storm Lake. He has also started StrikeZone in Storm Lake which is helping young players develop and mature in their pitching skills as well as their hitting technique.
McCormick and his wife, Missy, reside in Alta and have four children.
