Mike Jamieson

Mike Jamieson begins his third year as head women's golf coach at Buena Vista in the fall of 2017.

Jamieson brings 20 years of golf experience to the position and has served as an assistant coach at Owens Community College in Perrysburg, Ohio since 2014.  During the 2015 campaign, he guided the team to eight wins and six second-place performances during 15 tournaments.  The team finished second in Region XII, won the Sub-Region XII tournament and placed 9th in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament in Scottsboro, Ala.

Jamieson is a 2005 graduate of NAIA Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kan., where he played golf for three years after one year at NCAA Colorado State.  At Tabor, he earned all-conference accolades twice and posted three first-place finishes, seven second place finishes and over two-dozen top-10 marks.

In addition to his time spent as assistant coach, he has served as General Manager for Golf, etc. in Mansfield, Texas where he sold and built high-end golf equipment in the Dallas / Fort Worth area from February 2011 until April of 2012.  He also spent time at a Troon Golf facility in Scottsdale, Ariz., while also playing in Monday qualifiers for both the PGA and Canadian tours.

After graduation from Tabor, Jamieson spent several years in Players Services and also spent time serving as a Junior Golf League Coordinator and Group Lesson Instructor at a Family Sports Center in Colorado.  He has taught lessons in multiple stats and also served as a caddie at Castle Pines Country Club and in the Celebrity Players Tour, carrying the bag for NHL Hall of Famer, Mario Lemieux.

Prior to getting back into coaching golf, he spent nearly 10 years in the business world, including a six-year stint as a general manager for Quiznos (2005-11) in Wichita, Kan.

Jamieson plans to reside in Storm Lake with his wife, Briana, and two kids, Kailee (7) and Cameron (4).
