About Susan: Is the daughter of Russell andDonna Kies.
High School Highlights: Was a four-yearletterwinner in basketball for the Mustangs and was a four-timeall-conference selection. She also earned all-state accolades twiceand was named to the State Tournament All-Tournament team twice.Was named Class 1A Player of the Year as a senior.
In addition to basketball, she was a four-time letterwinner involleybabll, two-time in golf, and five-time in softball. On thediamond, she was a four-time all-conference selection, two-timeall-state, played on a state championship and two state runner-upteams, was named to the State Tournament All-Tournament Team as asenior, and was named Class 1A Player of the Year as a junior andsenior.
Aside from athletics, she graduated as Valedictorian of hersenior class and received the school''s annual Bernie SaggauAward.
College Highlights:
2013-14: She capped off her stellar career by starting all 27 ofthe team''s games and leading the way in scoring at 16.2ppg - a markthat also ranked her second in the IIAC. She also led theteam in made three-point field goals (61) and free-throw percentage(84.6 percent), while her free-throw percentage was also tops inthe league. She scored in double-figures in all but six gamesand also had 10 games of at least 20 points. Her best scoringoutput came when she posted a career-high 35 points, including fivethree-point buckets in a win over Bethany Lutheran. She alsohad three games of making five three-point buckets. Shematched her career-high with seven assists in a win over Central onJanuary 25. Following the year, she was named Second TeamAll-IIAC and again earned a spot on the Academic All-IIAC Team.
2012-13: She appeared in 25 games and made 24 starts whileleading the team in scoring for the year (13.8ppg). She alsoshot 35.1 perent from three-point range which ranked second on theteam and seventh in the IIAC. She also ranked second on theteam in assists/game (2.6). Her 85.7 percent mark from thefree-throw line also led the team and was second among all IIACplayers. She finished the year with six games of at least 20points and also recorded at least three assists 10 times. Sheturned in a new career-best 28 points, including a career-high sixthree-pointers in a win against Martin Luther. Two gameslater she posted a career-high seven assists against Caltech. She was also named IIAC Player of the Week on December 2. Followingthe season, she was voted Honorable Mention All-IIAC by the leaguecoaches and also earned a spot on the Academic All-IIAC Team.
2011-12: As a sophomore, she became the team''s startingpoint guard and was third on the team in scoring and second inassists, steals and three-point field goals. She scored acareer-best 20 points, while matching her career high with fourthree-pointers at Simpson College on February 8. She finished theyear ranked fifth in the league, averaging 1.80 three-pointers pergame.
2010-11: She came off the bench and appeared in all 26games as a point guard for the team as a freshman and earned avarsity letter. She finished sixth on the team in scoring, wassecond in assists and tied for second in three-point field goals.She turned in a season-best 15 points, including three long-rangebuckets versus Simpson on January 17. Just more than a weekearlier, she dished out seven assists off the bench against LutherCollege on January 8.
