About Shelby: Is the daughter of Wayne and Darla...has two sisters, Ashley and Dani.
High School Highlights: Was a four-year varsity letterwinner in volleyball, basketball and softball for the Bluejays In basketball, she was all-conference each season, including Second Team accolades as a freshman. In volleyball, she was an all-conference selection in each of her final three years, was Second Team All-State as a junior and was a team captain her senior year.
Aside from athletics, she was an academic all-conference selection in both volleyball and basketball and was a member of the National Honor Society.
College Highlights:
2014-15: Shelby started all 25 games for the Beavers and was second on the team and 16th in the IIAC in scoring (10.2ppg). Her 6.7 rebounds led the team and was sixth in the IIAC. For the year, she tallied three doubles, including 18 points and 10 rebounds during a win at Martin Luther on December 2. She set a season-high 19 points the game prior to that against Martin Luther on 8-of-11 shooting. She joined the 1,000-point club later in the season and following the year was a Second Team All-IIAC selection, while being voted team ''MVP'' by her teammates.
She joined the Beavers beginning in 2013-14 after playing her first two collegiate seasons at Bethany Lutheran College.
2013-14: She played in all 27 games for BVU, including 15 starts. For the year, she shot both a team and IIAC best 57.2 percent from the field, while averaging 10.6 points per game. For the year, she nearly averaged a double-double as she also averaged 9.3 rebounds which ranked her second on the team. Her 4.19 offensive rebounds per game led the IIAC. Overall, she turned in 16 double-digit scoring games, including a career-high 22 points against Simpson on January 15. She totaled nine double-doubles on the year and grabbed a career-best 16 boards against both Illinois Tech and Wartburg. She was tabbed as an IIAC Defensive Performer of the Week performer early in the season, marking just the program''s second such selection since 2000.
2012: She averaged 13.5ppg as a sophomore, while being tabbed a Second Team All-Conference selection and named to the All-Defensive Team. As a member of the Viking volleyball team, she finished with 288 kills and an overall hitting percentage of .266. Defensively, she chimed in with 61 total blocks. Those totals propeled her to a First Team All-Upper Midwest Athletic Conference selection following the season.
