About Malarie: Is the daughter of Jeff andJuanita Gilley...has one sister, Emily.
High School Highlights: Was a four-yearletterwinner in basketball and was a four-time all-conferenceselection, including a First Team performer her final threeseasons. She also earned First Team All-District honors her finalthree years, and was a three-time All-State selection. She finishedher career with 1500 points and 1300 rebounds.
In addition, she also lettered four years in volleyball, twoyears in track and five years in softball. On the court, she was athree-time all-conference selection, including First Team honors asa junior and senior. She was also named All-District in her finaltwo campaigns. On the diamond, she was a four-time all-conferenceperformer, and earned all-district and all-state accolades as asenior.
Aside from athletics, she was a member of the National HonorSociety, listed on the "A" Honor Roll, and graduated as theSalutatorian of her senior class.
College Highlights:
2013-14: She was having a career year before suffering aseason-ending knee injury with ony five games left in the regularseason. Prior to the injury, she had started all 20 games andwas averaging 15.8pppg and 9.6rpg. She was shooting 49.8percent from the field which ranked second; as did her 15.8points. She had reached double figures in all but one gameand turned in a career-high 27 points against Whittier on November23. Defensively, she also grabbed at least 10 rebounds ineight games, giving her eight double-doubles for the year. She set a school record against Martin Luther when she hauled in 24rebounds. She also blocked a career-best six shots atWartburg on February 1. Following the year, she was votedSecond Team All-IIAC by the league coaches and also earned a spoton the Academic All-IIAC Team for the third straight year.
2012-13: She appeared in all 25 games for the Beavers,including 15 starts. She ranked fifth on the team overall inscoring (7.3ppg), while shooting 46 percent from the field. She also averaged 5.5 rebounds per contest and led the way with her1.3 blocks/game average. She scored a career-best 16 pointsagainst Lake Forest on November 17 and later matched that totalagainst Wartburg on February 13. For the year, she totalednine double-digit scoring contests. Defensively, she recordeda trio of double-digit rebounding games, including a career-best 14against St. Mary''s (Neb.) on December 13. She also tallied atleast one block in all but four games and her 33 total blocksranked sixth in school history for a single season.
2011-12: As a sophomore, she appeared in 25 games offthe bench and averaged nearly 13 minutes per game, while earningher first varsity letter. She scored a career-high 16 points, on6-of-10 shooting, while grabbing three rebounds in 21 minutesversus Grand View on November 25. For the year, she finished fourthon the team in total rebounds, but did grab a team-leading 62offensive boards. She also led the team in field goal percentage,shooting nearly 53 percent, and tied for the team lead in blockedshots. Following the year, she was named AcademicAll-Conference.
2010-11: Saw most of her playing time as a freshmanwith the junior varsity team. She did come off the bench in fourvarsity contests, making her collegiate debut against UW-StevensPoint on November 27. She scored her first two points and grabbedher first two rebounds while playing three minutes against LutherCollege on January 8.
Outside of playing basketball, Malarie has also volunteeredon-campus to ''Walk for Autism''.
