College Highlights: Griffin pitched primarily with the junior varsity team as a freshman, allowing a run on two hits in one inning of work during the team''s 15-6 victory at Cornell College on May 8. He then appeared in eight games as a sophomore, including his first career start, when he pitched five innings, allowed an unearned run and struck out seven against Gustavus Adolphus in the team''s regular season finale on May 8. He also made a start against Carthage College during the Central Regional Tournament and earned a no decision. Following the year, he was selected to his first Academic All-Conference team and held a spot on BVU''s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Last season, Griffin pitched a career-high 23.2 innings of relief and only allowed more than one earned run in just one of his nine appearances. He came on in relief at Simpson College and pitched a season-high 5.2 innings, allowing an unearned run and struck out five, as BVU won 3-1. He again was an Academic All-Conference performer and served as President for SAAC.
