The fall of 2017 marks the fourth year at the helm for Ben McArthur as head men's soccer coach at BVU.

McArthur has led the team to 10 wins over the last two seasons and has coached four honorable mention players since taking over the program.

McArthur arrived to campus after having spent three years (2011-13) as an assistant coach at Waldorf College.  During his tenure with the Warriors, the team went 14-23-1 and set a school record for wins in a season in 2013 (8-10-1).  They had won just 11 total matches over the previous four years.

In 2012 and 2013, McArthur helped coach seven all-conference players, including a two-time Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference (MCAC) goalkeeper and the 2013 MCAC Newcomer of the Year.

A native of Elkins, W.V., McArthur attended Davis and Elkins and was a four-year starter while also obtaining a B.A degree in Hospitality Management with a minor in Marketing.  He was second on the team in scoring twice, and as a senior he was a key component to a squad that finished 17-5 and was a top-25 team in Division II.

In addition to his collegiate playing days, he also spent time while at Davis and Elkins coaching youth soccer at the club level.  After college, he then took on a position in Idaho, working with troubled youth at a residential treatment center.  During that time, he also took on a position as an assistant soccer coach at Minico High School.  In just his first season there (2008), the team posted its best single-season record.

McArthur holds multiple NSCAA diplomas, including the Advanced National Diploma and Goalkeeping Level II. He also holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) National "D" License.

He and his wife, Janelle, have four boys; Bendigo, Mateo, Jahzio and Renzo, and live in Storm Lake.
