Brett Benson begins his third year as head men's golf coach for the Beavers in the fall of 2017.

Benson is a 2010 graduate of Jackson State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. He’s currently working on his Masters of Art in education at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa.

In addition to his coaching duties at BVU, Benson also serves as a fourth grade elementary teacher at the Odebolt-Arthur elementary school in Odebolt, Iowa; a position he has held since 2013.  He also serves as assistant superintendent for the Jackson Golf Course in Jackson, Minn., where he’s been since 2005 working on the grounds crew and maintaining the course for play throughout the year.

Prior to moving into his current teaching job at O-A, Benson worked as an assistant golf pro at Brooks Golf Club in Okoboji, Iowa in 2013.  He also served as varsity golf coach at Jackson County Central from 2010-12 where he was part of three state appearances.

He and his wife, Amy, have four children: Megan, Madeline, Matthew and Mitchell.
