About Max: Is the son of Todd and Rhonda Burgeson...has one brother Weston.

High School Highlights: Was a four-year letterwinner for the Pioneers where he was a four-time All-Siouxland Conference selection, including First Team honors as a senior. He also earned both First Team All-District honors. In addition to basketball, he was a three-time letterwinner in football and was a 2x First Team All-District performer, was a District MVP, and Second Team All-Stater by the Des Moines Register. He also lettered four times in both track and baseball. In track, he was a four-time state qualifier and also qualified to the Drake Relays. On the diamond, he was a three-time All-Conference and Two-time All-District catcher. Aside from athletics, he was listed on the Honor Roll all four years, was a member of the National Honor Society for two years, and was an Academic All-District selection in football.

College Highlights: Max has seen most of his playing time with the junior varsity team during his first three seasons. He has seen limited action off the bench with the varsity each season, making his collegiate debut as a freshman when he played a minute during the team''s win against Grinnell on November 21. He scored his first two collegiate points as a sophomore when he made his only field goal attempt during two minutes of play against Wartburg College on December 8. Max has also served as a student trainer with various sports teams on campus during his career. Off the court, Max his heavily involved within BVATS (Buena Vista Athletic Training Society).
