About Kennedy: Is the son of Daniel and Tracy Drey...has two brothers, Kirby and Kyle, as well as two sisters, Kassie and Kristen.
High School Highlights: Was a four-year starter and letterwinner in basketball for the Panthers, while helping lead the team to the state tournament in each of his final three seasons. He was a starter on a state championship team as a sophomore and a runner-up team his senior year, while being named to the all-tournament team in each of the three seasons. His 22.9ppg as a senior was a career-high and ranked second on the team and fifth-best in Class 1A. He shot better than 63 percent from the field and 74 percent from the free-throw line. He finished his career with 1,731 points scored.
He helped lead the Panthers to four straight undefeated Twin Lakes Conference Championships and was an all-conference selections each of his four years.
College Highlights:
2014-15: Kennedy was a First Team All-IIAC selection and a First Team All-Region selection by d3hoops.com. He averaged a double-double for the year (14.2ppg and 10.0rpg). He was one of only three players in the league to average a double-double during IIAC play, as he led the way in rebounds per contest in those 14 games (11.4). He failed to score in double figures only once and had 12 games with at least 10 rebounds, including four straight games to end the year. In a loss to Simpson early in the year, he scored 10 points and hauled in 17 rebounds. He grabbed a career-high 19 boards in the season finale against Wartburg during the IIAC Tournment semifinals. For the year, he shot 61 percent from the field and nearly 48 percent from 3-pt range, while also shooting 71 percent from the free-throw line. His field goal percentage was the ninth-best single-season mark in school history, while his three-point percentage ranked fifth for those with at least 50 attempts.
2013-14: Turned in a solid freshman campaign for the Beavers where he appeared in 25 games, including four starts. He was in the starting line-up for the team''s season opener at Augsburg where he scored seven points and grabbed five rebounds. He shot 48.8 percent from the field on the year which ranked sixth on the team and scored 4.8 points per contest. Defensively, he grabbed 4.4 rebounds per outing which ranked him fourth while also ranking third with 12 blocked shots. He turned in a career-high 13 points during the team''s win against Dubuque on February 19 while grabbing a career-best seven rebounds on three occassions.
