Biography

About Cole: Is the son of Randy and Tina Darrow. His brother, Bo, is a quarterback on the BVU football team.

High School Highlights: He was a three-team letterwinner on the court for the Rams. As a junior and senior, he earned First Team All-Hawkeye 10 honors and All-District accolades, while receiving 2nd Team All-State recognition following his senior season. Also following the season, was selected to play in the IBCA All-Star Game and was named to the All-Tournament Team and also played in the SWI All-Star Game and was named MVP. For his career, he set four school records, including total points (1,007). In addition to basketball, he was also a three-time letterwinner in football where he was a 2nd Team All-District linebacker as a junior and 2nd Team All-District Tight End as a senior. He also lettered three times in track and field and as a junior, was a state qualifier in both the shuttle hurdle and the long jump. Then as a senior, qualified to the Drake Relays in both the shuttle hurdle and the medley relay. Later that season, he qualified to state in the shuttle hurdle, long jump, medley and the 4x200, placing fourth in the long jump, third in the medley and second in the shuttle hurdle, while competing for a Rams team that captured the state team title. Aside from athletics, he was listed on the Honor Roll, was a member of the National Honor Society, named Academic All-State in basketball and was a Distinguished Scholar.

College Highlights:
2014-15: Cole led the team in scoring as a senior, averaging 14.9ppg overall and 15.4ppg during conference play - a mark that ranked fifth.  He made 135 field goal attempts and attempted 122 free-throws.  He reached double digits in scoring in all but four games and turned in a season-best 23 points at the University of Dubuque as BVU clinched the regular season title.  Early in the season, he joined the 1,000-point club. He set a career-high with 11 rebounds in a victory over Wartburg.  Following the year, he was named a Second Team All-IIAC performer.

2013-14: Turned in a monster year for the Beavers as a junior when he earned First Team All-IIAC accolades.  He led the team and ranked second in the IIAC in scoring (18.9ppg).  He scored at least 15 points in all but six of the 27 games played and reached the 20-point plateau in 12 games.  For the year, his 509 points scored ranked 11th in school history.  His best performance of the year came in the season-opener at Augsburg on November 15, when he registered 34 points, on 14-of-21 shooting, and also grabbed six rebounds.  Late in the year, he also scored 26 points and hauled in nine boards in a win against Simpson on February 22.

2012-13: Played in all 26 games during his sophomore campaign and was second on the team in scoring at 11.7ppg and in rebounding at 5.1rpg.  Among all IIAC players, he ended the year 12th in scoring and 11th in rebounding.  He scored in double-figures 18 times, including a career-high 22 points during the Beavers'' 13-point win against Morningside College on November 28.  He grabbed a career-best 14 rebounds later in the year against Wartburg College on January 19 and also grabbed a career0high 4 steals in a game against Bethel.

2011-12: Was a key contributor off the bench for the Beavers as a freshman, averaging just more than 14 minutes per contest. Following the year, he was voted by his teammates as the team''s Newcomer of the Year. Had three double-digit scoring games for the year, including a career-high 13, on 5-of-6 shooting, against Crown College on December 3. He later scored 11 points and grabbed five rebounds in a home game against Loras College on January 16.
