About Alex: Is the son of Craig and Teresa Savage.

High School Highlights: Was a three-time letterwinner on the court for the Maroons...He was a two-year team captain, while earning First Team All-District honors in 2010-11 for a team that also qualified into the State Tournament. He finished his senior campaign with the highest assist total for any senior in Class 4A.

College Highlights:
2014-15: Started all 26 games and was one of the premier ball-handlers in both the conference and throughout the nation.  He dished out a team-leading 137 assists for the year which goes down as the fifth-most in program history.  He finishes his career ranked third all-time in assists (337) and is one of only three in history to surpass 300.  He also scored eight points per game and shot 91 percent from the free-throw line (40-of-44).  He was just six attempts shy of qualifying for the single-season record list.  He scored 16 points in an overtime win against Delaware Valley and dished out a career-high 10 assists in a win over Loras.

2013-14: He started all 27 games as a junior and ranked fifth on the team in scoring (7.0ppg).  He was also the team''s top free-throw shooter at 80.3 percent.  He moved on up the rankings in assists, leading the team and sitting third in the IIAC while dishing out an average of 3.1 per game.  His 2.2 assist/turnover ratio was also tops on the team and led all players in the conference.  Against UW-Platteville, he registered a new career-high of 15 points - marking one of his five double-digit scoring performances of the year.

2012-13: Appeared in all 26 of the team''s games and finished the season ranked sixth on the team in scoring (6.2ppg).  He made 27-of-68 attempts from three-point range on the year, ranking second on the team and 10th in the Iowa Conference.  His 81 assists were a team-best and he ranked sixth in the IIAC, dishing out better than 3.0 per game.  He scored a career-best 12 points on three different occassions and dished out a career-high seven assists against Wartburg on February 13.

2011-12: Was a key reserve for the team off the bench as a freshman, averaging 12.6 minutes per outing and earning a varsity letter. Came off the bench at home against Cornell on January fourth and went 2-of-2 from downtown en route to scoring nine points, while also dishing out five assists. Made a season-high three field goals and dished out a pair of assists during the team''s NCAA Tournament game against Wash U on March 2.
