About Tanner: Is the son of Randy and Kathy Truesdell. His father, Randy, played baseball and basketball for BVU.
High School Highlights: Tanner was on the honor roll his junior and senior years. He was All-Conference in baseball all four years and was named to the All-District and All-State teams twice. He lettered in football three times, baseball five years and basketball twice.
College Highlights:
2016: Started 41 games this season with the 4th highest batting average at .351. He was third on the team in slugging percentage (.629), total bases (95), and would lead the team with 46 RBI’s. He would also tie for first on the team with 10 home runs. Against Coe on April 26th he would go 3-3 with 2 home runs and 3 RBI’s. He was named 1st team all conference and 1st team all region.
2015: He started all 41 games and saw time in both the outfield and as a designated hitter throughout the year. He finished the season ranked second on the team with a .346 average and in doubles (10). He led the way in hits (56), at-bats (162), RBI (37) and tied for the lead in home runs (4). His .519 slugging percentage was also tops on the team as were his eight stolen bases. During IIAC play, he hit .294 with five doubles, four home runs and 18 RBI en route to earning Second Team All-IIAC accolades following the year. He went 4-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored against Nebraska Wesleyan on 15. He had multi-hit games in six of his first eight outings of the year. He had seven hits and three home runs during the four-game home series against Wartburg on April 3-4.
2014: Played in 42 games, making 41 starts, and finished the year with a .329 average. His 53 base hits ranked fifth and his 26 runs scored were sixth. He tied for third with 11 doubles, was second in triples (5), tied for second in home runs (3), while finishing tied for the team lead in RBI (36). In IIAC games, he hit .313 with nine doubles and 16 RBI. He had a pair of four-hit games on the year and 14 multi-hit games overall. He went 3-for-4 with two runs scored in the IIAC Tournament championship game against Central and then combined to go 5-for-17 at the plate during the NCAA Regional Tournament with four RBI.
2013: He played most of the year with the junior varsity team, but did make eight appearances, including five starts, at the varsity level. He went 6-for-18 at the plate with a double and one RBI. He made his collegate debut at Webster on March 4. He then played in the final six games of the year and combined to go 6-for-18 with his first hit and extra-base hit coming against Loras on May 5.
