Biography

About Brandon: Is the son of Terry and Terri Wessels...his father played basketball at Westmar College and his mother played volleyball at ICCC.

High School Highlights: Brandon was All-Conference in baseball in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011 and All-Conference in basketball in 2009, 2010 and 2011. He was also Second Team All-State in baseball in 2010 and First Team All-State in 2011. He lettered five times in baseball and four years in both track and basketball.

College Highlights:
2015: Prior to the season was named a First Team Preseason All-American by D3baseball.com.  He played in 40 games and was the team''s primary starting catcher.  He hit .267 overall and had a team-high four triples while sitting third with 29 runs scored.  He was also second in walks (17) and led the way in hit-by-pitches (13).  Defensively, he commited just one error in 196 total chances (.995).  He went 4-for-4 with a pair of triples, three RBI and two runs scored in the season-opener against Cornell College on March 8.  He also had three hits, an RBI and a run scored at Dubuque to begin IIAC play on March 27.

2014: Started all 46 games for the team as a sophomore and hit .362 overall which ranked fourth on the team.  He was third in hits (63), tied for fifth in doubles (7), first in triples (7) - which ranked second in single-season school history, and tied for the team lead in RBI (36).  His 51 runs scored were also most on the team.  He had 18 multi-hit games and posted a career-best 18-game hit streak which ended during the final conference series of the year. He went 4-for-4 with a triple, home run, four RBI and four runs scored during an 11-8 win against Gustavus Adolphus on March 24.  He also had four hits and two RBI against Dubuque on 18.  During IIAC play, he ranked second in runs scored (28), ninth in RBI (19), fourth in slugging pct. (.535), first in triples (5), home runs (3) and second in total bases (54).  He went on to earn First Team All-IIAC accolades and was an Honorable Mention All-American by d3baseball.com.

2013: Started all 42 games during his first season and led the team with a .405 average and 66 base hits.  He also was second in runs scored (29) and RBI (24).  He went 3-for-5 with a double, RBI and a run scored in his collegiate debut against North Park and hit safely in each of his first four games.  He had a 14-game hit streak that began during the second game of IIAC play.  Eight of those contests were multi-hit games as he ranked third in the IIAC with a .391 average, despite leading the league with 43 hits.  He earned First Team All-IIAC accolades following the year.

2012: Sat out the entire season due to injury.
