About Bennett: Is the son of Glen and Teri...his father played football for two years at Missouri Western...has one brother, Allen, who played baseball at Central College.
High School Highlights: He was a two-year varsity letterwinner for the Bobcats. After an Honorable Mention All-Conference selection in 2011, he became a First Team All-Conference and All-District performer in 2012. In addition to baseball, he earned two letters in both football and track. On the gridiron, he was a Second Team All-Conference selection as a senior, while also running a leg on the 4x400 meter relay team in track which took third at the state meet.
Aside from athletics, he was a sevent-time Honor Roll member.
College Highlights:
2016: He was one of only 2 players to start all 44 games with season. He would bat .344 with 54 hits and 45 RBI’s. He was second on the team with 103 total bases, slugging percentage .656, and walks with 31. He would tie for 1st on the team with 10 home runs. Bennett would collect 11 hits in 5 games against Coe including a 4-5 game in the conference tournament. He was named 2nd team all conference and 2nd team all region.
2015: Played in 40 games and made 39 starts, primarily in right field, and finished the year ranked fourth on the team with a .314 average. He led the team with 11 doubles, to go along with two triples and two home runs, as he drove in 21 runs, while scoring 25. During IIAC play, he ranked 10th in the league with a .349 average, registering seven doubles and a league-best 18 walks. He also drove in 17 runs and scored 17. He went 2-for-3 with a double and two walks in his Beaver debut against Cornell College on March 8. He registered a season-high three hits during a 5-4 win against Simpson on April 17. Following the year, he was voted as a First Team All-IIAC selection.
2014: Played at Marshalltown Community College and was an Honorable Mention All-ICCAC selection.
